How Credits Work

Every feature on BIA uses credits. Credits come from your monthly balance, which resets at the start of each billing period.

  • Credits do not roll over month to month
  • Your balance resets automatically — you don't need to do anything
  • Credits are consumed when you generate content or send a message, not when you view existing output

Trial Plan Restrictions

Both Sales and Marketing Trial plans include 40 credits and require no credit card. Not all features are available on Trial.

Sales Trial restrictions

  • Outbound hub is present but empty — Messaging Playbook, Cold Email Sequence, and Lead Magnets are locked
  • Ask hub is limited to Ask the Expert only — Ask the Buyer and Ask the Committee are locked
  • Coach hub is locked on Trial — Coaching Reviews require Sales Starter or Pro
  • All five Simulate session types are available
  • All Intel, Create, and Dashboard features are available

Marketing Trial restrictions

  • Strategy hub shows GTM Assessment only — Messaging Playbook and Cold Email Sequence are locked
  • Ask hub is empty — Ask the Buyer and Ask the Committee are locked
  • Create hub has Slide Deck Builder, Infographic Builder, and Competitive Intel — Content Studio and Lead Magnets are locked
  • Review hub (all 5 tools) is available
  • Intel and Dashboard features are available

Upgrade to Starter or Pro to unlock full access.

Content Refinement

Refining existing generated content (inline edits via the Refine panel) costs half the original generation credit cost.


Caching — Free Repeat Generations

Some content is cached. If a Buyer Intel doc has been generated for a persona + product combination recently, it serves from cache at 0 credits.

This applies to: Buyer Intel docs

When you receive cached content, the platform indicates it in the output.


Credit States

Your account has four credit states:

WarningCredits exhausted, first overage event — limited continued use
OverageCredits exhausted, in overage buffer — usage continues up to 10% of monthly limit
BlockedOverage buffer exceeded or 2+ overage events this year — features paused

When blocked, no new content can be generated. Your existing generated content remains accessible. Enterprise accounts are never blocked.

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Click your profile icon (top right)
  2. Go to Account Settings → Plan & Billing
  3. Select your new plan
  4. Complete payment
  5. Your new credit balance activates immediately

If you upgrade mid-cycle, your new credits are added to your current balance for the remainder of the billing period.

Estimating Your Monthly Credit Needs

Use this as a rough guide:

Sales rep, light usage (1–2 sessions/day):

  • 30 practice sessions × 10 messages = 300 chat credits
  • 2 Buyer Intel docs = 20 credits
  • 1 Competitive analysis = 10 credits
  • ~330 credits/month → Sales Pro or above

Sales rep, regular usage:

  • 50 sessions × 15 messages = 750 chat credits
  • Consider Enterprise

Marketing team, content production:

  • 4 slide decks = 20 credits
  • 2 lead magnets = 20 credits
  • 3 competitive intel = 30 credits
  • 1 GTM assessment = 10 credits
  • ~80 credits/month → Marketing Starter
Note: Practice session credits (1 per message) add up quickly. If you're doing daily practice, Sales Pro or Enterprise will give you the most headroom.
