Your body hears the way you speak to yourself
Your body hears the way you speak to yourself. So does the way you work.
One apple. Five sentences.
“I’m not good enough.” “Why am I like this?” “I ruin everything.” “I can’t cope.” “I always mess this up.”
From the outside, nothing looks wrong.
The call goes well. The deck gets finished. The deal keeps moving. The inbox still gets cleared.
So everyone assumes you are fine.
But the inside is taking the hit.
Self-talk does not stay in your head.
It changes your breathing. It changes your decisions. It changes the tone you take into the next room.
By the time you notice it, you may already be working from threat.
Save this for the next time pressure changes your tone.
Five signs your self-talk is getting the better of you:
-
You turn one missed detail into proof you are not good enough. ↳ Name it as one mistake, not your identity.
-
You read a slow reply as rejection. ↳ Check the facts before you write the story.
-
You walk into the next call already defending yourself. ↳ Notice the threat before you speak from it.
-
You treat rest like a risk to your role. ↳ Ask what your body is asking for before it forces you to listen.
-
You use a tone with yourself that you would never use with a client. ↳ Change the sentence before it becomes a belief.
B2B work is demanding.
You already know that.
And this is what makes it easy to miss:
You can look capable on the outside, while quietly bruising the person doing the work.
You call it standards. You call it ambition. You call it being hard on yourself.
Sometimes that is the bruise.
So I’ll ask you this.
What story are you repeating?
